★★★★ 8.2 (94 reviews)

"I love the facilities for large group of family with a kid. Spacious room, kitchen and washing machine. The location is good but still a bit far from the station. The cleanliness need to be improved, I found a few long blonde hairs in the futon in the cupboard. The bathroom got bad smell all the time from the pipe. All in all, I am still satisfied with the place. The staff is also very nice."

do-c Ebisu

do-c Ebisu

📍 1-8-1 Ebisu, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo
★★★ 8.8 (126 reviews)

"Great location, but everything else is pretty mediocre. You have to check out and check back in every day, even for consecutive stays – I saw the front desk trying to explain this to a bewildered foreigner. The room doors are incredibly loud when opening and closing. Seriously, it's the 21st century, why are we still using keys? No electronic locks? Overall, very average. On the plus side, there's an Afuri ramen right next door, which is pretty good and refreshing."

Imperial Hotel, Tokyo

Imperial Hotel, Tokyo

📍 1 Chome-1-1, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo
★★★★★ 9.5 (2,332 reviews)

"The front desk staff were warm and welcoming, and every member of the team treated me with the utmost respect. While the hotel is a bit older, it's very clean and well-maintained; the housekeeping service was also excellent. The view from the window was absolutely stunning."

LANG HOTEL Ueno ★★★★
"1. So smelly 🥲🥲 The ventilation was really poor; we had to leave the window open all night for the smell to dissipate. 2. Before checking in, they repeatedly asked us to upload passport photos and personal information (I understand this is Japanese policy). However, the website for uploading data was a .cn domain, and each page took 5 minutes to load. It was an extremely poor online system, and I almost thought it was a scam website 😅 (See picture). 3. It clearly stated that we needed to register online three days before check-in. We didn't trust the hotel's website at all (the interface was too strange). Since it's an unstaffed hotel, we arranged for a staff member to assist with check-in. Despite setting an appointment, the hotel still sent me daily messages and emails telling me I hadn't completed the check-in process 😅😅"

Hotel Hoshi Kai Kan ★★
"Great place to stay, large room with 2 futons, shared traditional showers and clean shared toilets. There was complimentary and coffee available as well as a fridge and microwave. The staff were really polite and attentive when showing us around. The place had everything we needed and was right by a metro stop or a 25 minute walk to the tokyo station without the metro. Plenty of convenience stores nearby. Perfect for us"

Pearl Hotel Shinjuku Akebonobashi ★★★
"Overall is good is very near to the train station, is a quite vibes street if you prefer silent. The hotel room size is standard Japanese hotel style. The services from the hotel is a bit rude for us, their air con always have problem at midnight, only can use heater and the room is too hot and hard to breath we request the hotel to switch on the cold air con for us they said can’t make it. And they just refuse to help, we quite struggle for the whole night, even open up the window is still hot"

Nishitetsu Inn Nihonbashi ★★★
"not the best location, though its quite near to ningyocho station. breakfast was AMAZING! super japanese style, i look forward to it everyday. room size definitely on the smaller side, but its ok. water heater and pressure works amazing. unfortunately no water dispenser as tap water supposed to be drinkable. housekeeping is once every 2 days. amenities take what you need. would come back to stay just for the breakfast."

Imperial Hotel, Tokyo ★★★★★
"The hotel's location is convenient, very close to the subway station, making travel easy. Taxis are always waiting outside the entrance. The public areas are incredibly 'grand,' and while the room facilities are a bit dated, they exude an old-class charm. The soundproofing in the main building isn't great, which is directly related to its age. The annex, being less occupied, has less noise from people, but the railway noise is unavoidable and quite noticeable at night. Although breakfast wasn't lavish (I only tried the second floor and the Japanese restaurant on the first basement floor), it was full of ceremony. The service exceeded expectations; the front desk and the one-on-one guides all spoke excellent English. Their responses were prompt and their attitude was wonderful, which was very impressive. However, the service staff at the popular first-floor lobby restaurant were just average (it seemed they were more enthusiastic towards locals?). Overall, I still recommend it; it offers good value for money."
